Lilongwe Kamuzu Central Hospital One Stop Center Progress Report

Posted by sbowler on February 10, 2016

Construction of the Kamuzu Central Hospital One Stop Center building in Lilongwe began in August 2015 and was scheduled to be finished by December 2015. In October, the walls were up and seemed to be in progress and on schedule.

Unfortunately construction stopped in late 2015 and therefore the building could not be finished as scheduled. The contractors resumed construction in late January and we were informed that it will be finished by end February 2016.

On 9th February 2016, FOL visited the site to check the progress but there were no builders around, it seemed to be on hold once again. The building is however roofed and awaiting other finishing materials. It is doubtful that it will be completed on schedule (end February). We hope the building will be completed in the first quarter of the year so that the OSC can be launched and victims can begin to access OSC services effectively.
